New Direction!

Hi Friends!

Four years isn't too long between posts is it?!  Ah well, such is life.  I was busy!

The reason that I came back to this blog though is that I have become increasingly frustrated with the amount of work that teachers are expected to do on a daily basis!  And the "To Do" list isn't getting any smaller.

I want to have a place where we can share ideas and help each other!  Let's make the job of teaching a little easier so that we can spend more time on the heart of teaching.  Investing time in researching and planning the best ways to reach students is the most important thing to me.

Helping each child grow to love learning is so vital.  Helping the children achieve as much as they can in their academics, relationships and 21st century skills is where I want to spend my time.

I am going to bring you content that is helpful and will make the "job" of teaching easier so that you can invest time in the Heart of teaching.

Things like:
  • resource lists
  • organizational tips
  • printables
  • parent newsletters
  • planning templates
  • tips for transitions
  • morning meeting ideas
  • integrating technology
  • teacher toolbox
  • lesson plan structures
  • tips for working in a PLC
Thanks for Visiting!!

My Instant Classroom!

I've been gone from blogland for a while now due to an extended family visit and a small electrical fire!!  Everyone is fine, and none of our possessions were damaged, but a week and a half ago we had a small fire at our house.  There is some structural damage and we are staying in a hotel for a few more days until the house is fixed.  It's been a stressful few weeks for sure, but I'm looking forward to school starting and life settling down and getting into our regular routine.

I was on Pinterest (addicted) and came across this great link!  My instant classroom has two tools that I really love!
A random name generator!

They also have a seating chart tool that you can use to plan out your desk arrangements!  This is so much easier than drawing it out on paper like I usually do, erasing and rewriting kids names.  (These are not my real students' names.)

FREEBIE! VA- Standards of Learning Checklist-

Hi Friends!!
I’ve been absent quite a while now, my parents needed me to stay with them after my mom had back surgery.  So I’ve been playing the dutiful daughter- trying anyway!  I’m actually still staying with them to help out a little and while I’m here I created this for my Virginia Friends.  I know a lot of you are implementing the Common core standards, but here in Virginia we are sticking with our own standards.
The next thing I’m going to work on is the posters for displaying the standards that the students are currently working on.

Hope this helps some of you!
